Plant Metallurgist

Plant Metallurgist (Multiple Positions within Washington County, PA) 

Minimum of Master’s degree in either Material Science or Material Engineering or both with at least six (6) months experience in Manufacturing. 

 Candidate will evaluate materials and develop machinery and processes to manufacture metallurgical materials that meet specialized design and performance specifications. Candidate must have prior skills researching and developing new high-temperature alloy grades and enhancing existing grades by modifying compositions according to customer requirements. Must also have experience conducting research on structures and properties of materials to develop new alloy grades or enhance existing metal types as well as provide technical expertise and support to upper management, customers, and sales team as needed. Experience forecasting and managing the inventory of raw materials and controlled expenditure of production supplies is necessary. Must be able to prepare technical reports for failure analysis and carry out root cause analysis. Will need to apply knowledge validating lab equipment at regular intervals and troubleshoot malfunctions when needed. Finally, candidate must be able to monitor lab procedures and carry out chemical analysis of samples when required. 

 Candidate will work on site at manufacturing plant from 9a-5p, 40 hrs/wk.
Salary $83,949 per year.
